Africa or Space?

Would you rather....live with scientists studying gorillas in Africa...OR...live on the space station with astronauts?

  1. I would rather live in space. This is because I have always thought space travel to be very interesting. I always thought the concept of zero gravity to be very cool. Africa would be cool and all. But it would be extremely hot. I just think space travel would be cooler. I love space!!!

  2. I would rather be in space with astronauts in the space station. I would want to do experiments with what stuff does without gravity. I saw a video where a guy got a towel wet and squeezed it and got all over the guy's hands and wouldn't drop to the floor like it would on Earth. It behaved like gel. I would love to see that in person. There is also the risk of running into space debris and solar flares. In a telescope, stars would be much brighter in space if you looked in a telescope because there is no atmosphere in space like there is on Earth. Earth has light pollution so you can't see very many stars if there's light pollution. In space you could see a lot more stars since there is no light pollution. I would love to live in space with astronauts on the space station.

  3. Oh my gosh I would TOTALLY love to go to space!! It's so beautiful there and I have yet to feel the feeling of 0 gravity. Also if we went to the Moon, I COULD WALK ON THE MOON!!!!! Plus I would probably also be the first kid in space and to be the first is pretty awesome. To be the last, hmmmm, not so much. But I don't know about staying there too long because 0 gravity can mean serious bone loss so you have to do special exercises to help that. Or maybe we wouldn't land the spaceship we would just travel to Mars and turn back home. That would be amazing. Perhaps someday I will go to space. After all I would rather study space and astronomy than math, reading, writing, science, and social studies put together.

  4. I would rather live in Africa with scientists studying gorillas because if I were to live in space, I would be taking a HUGE risk by risking my life in the exposed era of space. I could run out of oxygen in the building or lose gravity by a power outage. Living with gorillas is still taking a big risk but at least I get the kind comfort of the ground. I know I will not just start flying randomly in the air or lose the air that surrounds me. Plus, I would be very curious of the life of gorillas and how they would act around another species. There is also the wonders of Africa that I would like to experience and explore. Therefore, I would LOVE to be in Africa studying gorillas and the movements of their kind. I know a lot of people would love to go in space but I wouldn't want to LIVE in space maybe just a visit! :)

  5. I would much rather live in africa with scientists studying gorillas because there is a huge chance you wouldn't make it back from the moon. You could suffocate in space without air.Its hard not breathing sitting there and if you run out of oxygen on the moon you wouldn't make it because theres no air.Like in the movie Armageddon. They barely made it back to earth but then again it is a movie but that could still happen. But it would be cool to live on the moon because you could bounce around and do flips that most people couldn't do on land.I would also want to be able to take some of the moon back to earth with me if I lived there.

  6. Would i rather live in space, or study ape's? I would rather studty ape's, because in space it would be aful lonely. If I studied apes I would make them my friend, and learn about them. In space you have limited air, and can suffacate rather fast. On Earth there is lots of air! Sometime s there are two people, or maybe three there. Finally I like to learn about animals.

  7. I would rather study ape's because how would you get oxygen when your in space miles away from getting oxygen. You would be risking your life in space and were would the cell phone get any service.I love space but that would be a little scary to have no oxegen.I also think it would be very lonely.I would also wanna know more about apes.I have always wondered why they walk on there knuckles.I love animals!

  8. As much as I LOVE space and astronomy, I have to say that I would rather live in Africa with gorilla scientists. I would choose Africa just because it is way easier and safer. I do love animals, and you can't have loss of oxygen in Africa unless someone chokes you which is not very likely. And in space, you will not get very much exercise, and you will never see the bright land, but instead you are in a dark never ending hole. And in space, you cannot run like the wind, or experience rain, or any of that stuff!!! Plus you would not get to play, or check your Facebook, or communitcate, or experiment, or have technology, or or or or or DO ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!! And I am a very big talker, and if you live in space, you can't talk very much or very easily!!!!!!! Space is also very dangerous, and if you forget to do one little thing, or trip one little time, you might DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I'm too young to die, so I just think that I will stay right here on Earth. And, in space you constantly have to carry that super heavy space suit around which is really 200 pounds without a human in it! And in Africa, you get to live with smart people and you get to see Gorillas!!! It's like a zoo in your home!!! Which is awesome since I love animals!!!!!!! I would love to live in Africa with gorilla people way more than in the terrible, lonely, scary, dark, quiet, death-like, tiring, dangerous, imperfect, inpatient, black hole of space.

  10. If I had the choice between Africa and the international space station, I would choose the space station. I would choose space station is because there are many parasites and bacteria in Africa that can kill or be very harmful. Space may be scary but you get to float which is the cool part! Plus, Africa is really hot all the time. I like space and all but the only worst part is the food is all dried out like ice cream scrambled eggs and a bunch of other foods. Space is awesome!

  11. If I had to choose between living Africa to study gorillas and living on the space station I would choose living in Africa to study gorillas. I would choose this because living in space would be really dangerous. I would be very scared to live in space because I could run out of oxygen and I would miss my family. It would be very cool to live in space without all of the risks and with my family being there (also school, friends, and basically modern civilization). In Africa there are risks too but I would have at least a chance to survive. I would also like Africa because studying animals is very interesting and fun. Space is fun to study too, but I would like to study it from here, on Earth. That is what I would choose.

  13. Would I rather go to space or Africa? Even though they are both dangerous I would choose Africa. Space is lonely, back holes along with being cold all the time. Also there are astroids, space junk and no one to talk with. Africa may be dangerous but there are so many exotic creatures there! My dad has been to Africa moths there can get very, very large and there are many poisonous plants, insects and animals. I would really want to ride a camel. Africa has many countries for an example Egypt! Did you know the capital of Kenya is Nairobi? Though space is filled with many amazing things too Africa is a tad bit safer. Africa is an amazing and fasanating place.

  14. Even though I love astronomy and space I would totally rather live in Africa studying gorillas. Living in Africa just seems more safe and more fun. While living in space you would have to be careful about what you wear and how you do thing. Plus I would be extremely scared about floating off into space. I would also be really scared about losing oxygen and in Africa that is something you don't have to worry about. At least not a lot. Another thing is I LOVE animals they are soooooo fun to be around. And in space you will never get fresh air and exercise and not seeing any animals I would die. To me it would just seem like you were in a never ending dark hole of blackness. Plus you wouldn't get to see wind, snow, rain, sunshine or your family or do absolutely anything fun. You wouldn't get to watch tv or play on the computer and for me it's pretty hard to live without technology. Plus it would be so annoying carrying that huge spacesuit around and one little slip or trip and you are gone and I for one don't want to die at 12. Plus I am a huge talker and socializer I can't go 5 minutes without saying a word to somebody I am a big people person and with working with a bunch of scientists in Africa will give me a big chance to talk.

  15. That is not even a question for me. I would rather live on a Space Station with astronauts that study Gorillas in Africa. I would rather live in a Space Station because I love Astronomy and space. I would also like it because I am with astronauts. I have always wanted to go to space. I would also love the zero gravity. That is why i would want to live in a Space Station.

  16. If I had to choose between Africa or space I would choose Africa. I would love to study gorillas because I love every type of animal. It would be a bit scary in space. Also, I wouldn't want to touch that nasty space food. At least in Africa, you don't really have a huge fear of dying. You would be able to communicate with others with out sounding like Darth Vader.

  17. I would much rather live in Africa studying gorillas.I think that space would be cool but there' so many things to worry about like air and lots of other things.I love animals also.I also think that you could find an orphan gorilla and take care of it.Also I really don't like astronaut food,it taste really dry and plain. But studying gorillas would be really fun.

  18. I do not want to live in either place. In space you can run out of oxygen. In Africa you can be attacked. These places would be boring after awhile. In space you only get limited space in the shuttle. In Africa you have more space but you only get to study Gorillas. If I had to live in one of the places I would live in Africa. Africa has a variety of things to do and explore.

  19. I think that I would rather go to space because I am not much of an animal person. Although I think that I would get very homesick in space but I guess you could in Africa too. I would want more of an experience than going to Africa even though that is great I think space would be more of a challenge and more exciting. How many people get to say they went to space. I also have not been good at the whole taking care of babies thing I don't think I could take care gorilla babies. Plus I might get like a mission or something. And I wonder what it's like to be in lower gravity.

  20. If I could have a choose to live in space or Africa I would so live in africe to study gorillas. I think It would be so fun and cool to study gorillas. Then you could know a lot about gorillas and see what they do. To live in space you would have to eat space food and stay in a little space ship. All thoght it would be cool to see if there is alians out there. I think that it would be cool to see space be africa study gorillas I could do that more.

  21. I would like to study gorillas in Africa, because I think that it would be very interesting for the fact that these animals are very human like. Also, I would like to know what their true main diet is, besides bananas. I would like this job, because I could learn the personalities of the monkeys, and what triggers them to be mad or happy. I've always have had a fascination with monkeys. Something I would like to try would be to, give them something us humans use like a bicycle. I think that teaching a gorilla, monkey, or chimp to ride a bike would be something to talk about. How often do you see a monkey riding a bike? Not so often. As you can see, I think that studying monkeys would be more interesting to me, than being in space.

  22. If I could choose I would choose to stay with scientists to study gorillas. I would study gorillas because they are one of the closest DNA animals to us. Did you know that human birth control pills also work on gorillas? Plus, with the scientists we could figure out a lot of different things that could help mankind. Also, there is a guy who has a gorilla as a pet and he can high five with him and the gorilla always follows him around. Also, in a book that I read, they had a butler gorilla, so maybe we could make some training so that the gorillas have a less killing instinct and a more butler instinct. Space is too scary for me!

  23. If I could study gorillas or go to space I would want to study gorillas. I would want to study gorillas because going to space would be very cool but also very dangerous. I wold be afraid that something would go wrong in space and something would happen. I also would like to study gorillas because they are very interesting creatures. I think that it is very cool that they have human like features and it would be awesome to see a gorilla up close and in its natural habitat. I think that monkeys are very interesting and it would be very fun to see how they act and what they do. I don't know a whole lot about gorillas but I think that is what would make the experience awesome. Going to space would be amazing but I think that I would rather stay on earth and learn all about the amazing creatures.

  24. If I could go to space or Africa, I would go to Africa because I love gorillas like in tarzan. You could see them in their natural habitat instead of a zoo. They are very interesting they are almost like people. It would be cool to see one up close and in person not behind a glass screen. It would be scary up in space what if you ran out of oxegen. Or something could go wrong. I dont know much about gorillas but that would be realy cool to see them and their children.

  25. If I could go to space or Africa I would go to Africa. I would want Africa because Africa is so amazing. Also, The animals are so amazing to watch or study. Plus, in space something could go wrong. Something could go wrong because like in Apollo 13, alot of things went wrong Plus you can fall, and fall and fall FOREVER in space. So this are my reasons.
