Field Day
What is your definition of Sportsmanship? Are you looking forward to Field Day? If so, what event or part of the day are you most looking forward to? If not, what do you think would be a different all day event that all 6th graders could participate in that you would enjoy more?

I am not looking forward to feild day very much. If I had to choose an activity i'd choose long jump. I'd choose long jump, because it is my favorite activity to do there. I am also kind of excited that we finally get to do tug a war. I am not sure if ill make it to field day, but i hope ill make it to district, but I think its alot of compitition this year. I hope we will have a ton of fun on feild day!!!

ReplyDeleteMy definition of sportsmanship is making sure everyone is getting treated fairly. People should get treated fairly because people are trying their best in every way. I am looking forward to field day because we get to play tug o war. I want to play tug o war because I have never played it before. I think our team will crush the other class:). We could also do 6 grade Olympics. Some events could be disk throw (frisbee), javelin throw (yardstick), relay, and long jump. So, these are my reasons. Griffin
ReplyDeleteMy definition of sportsmanship is that everyone plays the game fairly and no bragging. I am looking forward to field day because you don't have school for most of the day. My event that I am looking forward to is the high jump. I am really good at it. Another event I like is the 75 yard dash. Its my second favorite. I also enjoy the long jump. Not as much as the 75 and the high jump. I really hate the 600 though. So overall I like field day.
ReplyDeleteSydney
My definition of sportsmanship would easily be everyone participating. My second definition is when, for instance, team A wins a game and team B loses that game that team B doesn't get all angry and walks away but they high five the other team and smile and appreciate their own hard work. I am SO looking forward to field day. I can already tell that it will be a blast but I am sad that I have to run the 600 (or 800 this year) because I can hardly make it through the first two laps because of my asthma. Even if I take my inhaler, after three laps I feel like I am going to collapse. I am looking forward to high jump because I think that is what I am best at and is my favorite. I believe it is fun to jump and it feels so good once I clear that jump. So, in conclusion, I hope that everyone will have a great time and good sportsmanship about FIELD DAY! :)

I am looking forward to field day because I think it will be a lot of fun! My definition of sportsmanship is accepting any outcome and if you win not rubbing it in other's faces. I always try my hardest to not use bad sportsmanship. I am really looking forward to the girls relay (I get to see if the team I'm on wins or not). I think that Griffin's idea is great! We could have a 6th grade Olympics. We could put track in it, high jump, and maybe even every day sports. That is what I think about 6th grade field day! Jessica
ReplyDeleteMy definition of sportsmanship is that everyone has a good time and when someone is on a team that wins they don't go bragging about it. I am not really looking forward to Field day that much. The only thing I am looking forward to is long jump. I also think it is awesome there is a tug of war. I would have lots of fun. The reason I am looking forward to long jump is that it looks fun and I would enjoy trying to jump very far. I can't wait for field day to do long jump.

My definition of sportsmanship is every one is participating and being positive and talking positive to and about one another. I'm looking forward to in field day is the relay run and the 75 yard dash. The reason why I'm looking forward to the 75 yard dash is because I have to run as fast as I can. I'm also not looking forward to field day is because all the topics I signed up for is running as fast as I can. Even though I love running my right leg gets sore because of my osgoodslaughter which is when your tibia or your shin bone is not lined up with your need bone but your tibia puts itself back into place after awhile. Other than that I'm all for field day.

I am so happy to have fild day it is going to be so fun. I wish that couch. E could there for us for on the last year here. Couch brown is nice too. The one I am the most excited for is the 600 that is my favorite part of the hole thing. My second favorite whould have to be realy or long jump. I am so pump to do fild day.
ReplyDeleteHayden
I am looking forward to field day.I am not looking forward to doing the six hundred or 75 yard dash.I wish you could choose which event you would not want to do. I also wish you could choose which one you do want to do.But I cant complain I love field day and its one of the things I look forward to in school.I wish everyone good luck on Field day.
ReplyDeleteXamoi
I am and am not looking forward to field day. I am because I like to run around and it is fun to do things on teams and compete. I am definitely looking forward to the long jump, softball throw, and 75 yard. The one thing I'm not too excited about is the 600 because I'm still trying to figure out how to get my breathing under control. My definition of sportsmanship is not getting insanely competitive and the winners rubbing the win the the losing teams' face (Like Jessica had said) I never actually thought I would say this but I am really excited for Field Day because I know Coach Brown will encourage us and we will actually want to keep going. Now I must go to sleep or I will be up all night. GOOD NIGHT AND GOOD LUCK!!!

My definition of sportsmanship is competition with proper consideration for fairness, ethics, respect, and a sense of fellowship with one's competitors. OK maybe it is not my definition of sportsmanship, I admit I looked it up on Wikipedia, but a least I agree. I really wanted to do high jump this year. I get picked for it every year but this year. I jump really high the only problem is I can't get the movements down. Also this year, I have a conflict with Strings. I rarely get to go to PE because of Strings and I have to be there enough to be chosen for an event. Got to go, I am having a York attack!!!!!

My definition of sportsmanship is to play fairly and really try and do your best. Also, for field day. I am really looking forward to the 75 yard run, the high jump, relay, and the football kick. I am not looking forward to neither 600 or long jump because I am not that good at either events. I would do 75 yard dash, but 3 laps on a 600 yard run, I would be running 8, 75 yard runs. Yeah, I'm good. I am not looking forward to long jump, because I don't think that it is that fun or really exercising for someone. I am very looking forward to the relay because I am on the relay team for group C. I am still slightly nervous though. But it still field day, so good luck you guys. Hey got to read a book. (Got to find one first.)

Sportsmanship is being kind and playing fair, doing your best, and you can congratulate the other team. I am not really looking forward to fieldd day because i am not very good at running. also i think that it eill be fun this year though because we have a different person putting field day together so it will be different. also it will be fun to misss a whole day of school. i am a little excited for field day but also nervous.

My definition of sportsmanship is a lot of things. Some things are that even if someone doesn't win in anything you should always say good job or nice try. Another thing is you should always treat people right an do not call them mean names or say somehting mean to them if you are going against them. One last thing is that you should always try to be up beat and happy when you are doing an event so other peopl can be happy to. I can't wait for field day every year i had i was so excited. The thing I am looking forward tot he most is the relay race and the 75 sprint because i love running so much i have taken track and field and my mom used to be a long distance runner an d my dad used to be sprinter so i think thats where I get my athletic cabability. I do mainly love everything there but the sprinting and the relay are the ones I love the most. If I had to chose any others it would probably be the football throw and the long jump. I love doing the football throw because I can throw it really far but I need to work on my catching a little bit. And for the long jump I just like to jump.

My definition of sportsmanship is that everyone has a good time, and nobody brags about who wins. I am very much looking forwards to field day, because I want to do the 600, because I am a very endurance runner. Also I'm looking forward to highjump, and the 75. The relay, tug of war, and the most the football kick. I think that it is going to be very fun, because I am competing with people like Xamoi and Dylan, because there are in my field day group. I really want to do well, but I think the most fun will be with the tug of war. If its against classes, I think our class with, for sure, win. Anyways, I am really looking forwards.

My definition of sportsmanship is playing without cheating and by all the rules, and not bragging the you won a game, but also complimenting the other team that they did a good job too. Sportsman ship is another word for kindness in sports. I am sort of looking forward to Field Day, because I am not actually participating, Coach Brown wanted me to help her in Field Day so I will not be participating. But I am looking forward to helping! I am really excited for the Tug Of War at the end! We have never done that before! It is going to be awesome! I have only done tug of war once in my life and I can't wait to do it again! I wonder how the two teams will be set up? Well anyway I'm excited and I know it is going to be a blast!

My definition for sportsmanship is not cheating being fair and not bragging and being mean to the other person. Also you should be very nice to people on the other team.I am exidid for field day but I am gonna be pretty tired when im done.I wish we could choose the events we were good at.I like to push myself and be strong about things like this.I cant wait till tug of war because I know a secret on how to win.I love field day!Cant wait!
ReplyDeleteBRING IT ON LIKE DONK KONG! :X :P :/ :)
Caitlyn :)
The definition of sportsmanship is you have a good attitude even if you lose. Also you are a kind player, not cheating. Last being polite if you win, which includes not bragging or make them feel bad.
ReplyDeleteFeild day is Thursday! I can't wait, my favorite activitie that I am looking forward to is... well, everything! But I do really like realay and 600. Feild Day! :)

The definition of sportsmanship to me it that you have to be a fair player, and not get mad when you lose. I am definately looking forward to field day. I can't wait to participate in the long jump. I feel very strongly that I'll do good in that event. I am also looking forward to the 600. This is because it is a great way to get used to running long distances. But I'll probably do better in the long jump than the 600. I love field day!!!
ReplyDeleteWILL
I am really looking foward to feild day it is goignt to be so fun. I am really looking forward to the 75 yd. dash and the 600 and the high jump. i think that the long jump is going to be thehardest for me because i cant really jump far but i can jump reaally high. i hope i get alot of blue ribbons.
ReplyDeleteNOAH SHIEL
My definition of sportsmanship is not only just not being a jerk, but saying "Good game" and shaking their hands. The event I'm looking forward the most to all the events! I like the 600 because I like running. I like the 75 for the same reason. The long jump and high jump are fun because I just enjoy jumping. Field Day is going to be awesome!
ReplyDeleteMatt
My definition of sportsmanship is that everything is fair.I'm not really looking forward to field day because I am definitly not a running person and I hate the 600.My favorite event is long jump.I like it because you get to jump and go a certain distance.I also like relay cause you can work as a team.I'm glad that there domig tug-of-waar this year,it will be really fun.
ReplyDeleteAlli
I do not like field day much, but I do like sports. My favorite event would be the softball throw because it is easy. Tug of war sounds fun this year. I am a good long distance runner so I should do ok in the 600. I am looking forward to not having classes tommorow. Field day is not my favorite activity, but I will do my best.
ReplyDeleteJake above
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion sportsmanship is being fair and nice to the other team or person. I am actually not looking forward to field day because some people treat it like it's the Olympics. I also am not looking forward to it because I'm not all that athletic. I am really looking forward to tug o war because it's like my favorite ALL TIME game. I also like the long jump. It's pretty fun even though I'm not very good. So thanks for reading.

My definition of sportsmanship is cheering each other on even if your far behind of your ahead by a longshot. I guess I am looking forward to field day even though I am not very fast. I am looking forward to the tug o war, football throw and softball throw. And I hope I get first in the 600 even though I probably won't. At least we won't have class.
ReplyDeleteDylan
I was late to answer this blog but my favorite event was the high jump. I liked it because I never really thought I could jump that high even though Annika beat me I still had a lot of fun. I(personally and no ofence to anybody) think that my group had the most sports man ship if you saw that when ever anybody ran by in a race and jumped really high we were screaming our heads off. My definition of sportsmanship is to complent people chant form them and cheer them on even if it's somebody you hardly know and if you win don't sweat it just be cool. I'm going to laugh at my self forever just because of this last feild day. Plus I have yet to finish thew 600 anyway. But I know now that 1. I need to be more careful and 2. sports are definentally, not for me.
