Difinentally Gilgamesh because when we read about him he sounded so nice and like a really good ruler. Plus Sargon just sounded evil and he led way to many armies in my opinon. Then Hammurabi had way to many rules and Assurbanipal I hardly knew but even if I knew more about him I would still have picked Gilgamesh. Also, if I am correct, at the time of King Gilgamesh there was no warring over water. But I don't know if I still would have wanted to LIVE in his time of rule for ever maybe just for like 3 days but not ever. Why, because they don't really have a lot of things like phones or tvs or cars so it would definentally be something to think about there. But I do think that if I did live there for even 3 days I will have lost a lot of weight trust me. Though another reason why I would want to live under the time of his rule is because then if I could come back I would be able to tell everyone if those legends about Gilgamesh are true because then we would know so much more about that time and Gilgamesh as well. Oh if only we could travel back it time we would know so much more...

I think I woul have been HummaraBI. I would have liked to be him because he had rule over ALOT of empires. Also I would like to be him because he took othe peoples land and ruled it for his own. Plus his name is cool. I wonder what he would have done when he was bored because I bet I wouldve been really bored. (no T.V no xbox 360 no ipod/ipad/apple/iphone). I forgot though was he the one who led his own army into battle? NEXT PERSON WHO WRITES AFTER ME DO ME A FAVOR AND ANSWER THAT.

I would have liked to meet Hammurabi because he seemed like a very good ruler. He had a code which everyone followed. In my opinion, if I had a code everyone would probably disobey it. I would also like to meet him because I would want to find out what his deal with lions was. He seemed to have a great kingdom and since he is well known you can tell that he was a very important leader. Being able to meet Hammurabi would be a very important moment to me.

I would like to be him because he created on of the ancient wonders, personally one of my favorites, and the most beautiful, The Hanging Gardens are amazing because if you are a traveler you have a traveled a great distance to all of these great structures that this amazing king has made, and the most lush in a hot desert , which would be a great sensation because you have drunken warm water and you have blisters from your sandals, and now you get to drink cool water from fresh wells, and have fresh fruit from the gardens. I would not like to be Gilgamesh because he wanted to be young forever, and that would be a drag watch all of your allies die generation, after generation. Also I would want to Hammurabi. These great kings all of their ups and downs, but my favorite king (the first one I mentioned) was a great king and designer. Austin H.
ReplyDeleteI would like to meet Hammurabi. I would want him to tell me all of his rules. I would also want to meet Gilgamesh and ask him why he has a lion. He also has a funny name. I would also want to meet Sargon because he is cool sounding. If I met Ashurbanipal I would ask him where did he get his wacky name from. I would also ask the other rulers that. Who names a person Ashurbanipal? So I would basically want to meet them all. I just can't choose one.

I would choose sargon.I would chose him, because he seemed to be the most powerful ruler. He ruled over many kingdoms, and was a harsh ruler. He is also was smart on how he attacked other empires. Sargon was nick named the great king. I also like that he went to battle with his own army. That is why I chose Sargon.

If I were to live under any of these kings, I would probably pick Hammurabi, not only cause of his cool name but because of his leadership. Okay, I'll admit it, I would probably not like the whole "rule" thing, you know being me, but I still think that he was a pretty cool king. Plus his name other than Sargon is easy to say other than the Ash-urb-ani-pal. OH HOW EVER YOU SAY THE NAME, I CANT SAY IT. Now that is a big reason why I like Hammurabi, IT'S EASY TO SAY. I mean what kind of parent woul- I'm getting off topic huh, okay back to Hammurabi. His code was pretty cool too, how the whole city followed it. Okay if I made a code here's what would happen.

If I could be any ruler out of them I would be Hammurabi. I would want to be Hammurabi because he seems like he accomplished more than the other rulers. Be made the code of Hammurabi. The code of Hammurabi is very inportant because I think that it is the only one on record and still here. It would he cool to be a ruler of a huge place like most of Mesopotamia. Hammurabi is also easy to sayr rather than any other person that has a super long name. That is why I would want to be Hammurabi.

the world or just the Fertile Cresent. I also would
like to meet Sargon because he had ruled an empire for 56 years. Sargon was tough and smart. He had conquered Sumer. He conquerd twenty cities and probably more. He was a truly great king of Mesopotamia.

If I could meet any Mesopotamian ruler it would be Ashurbanipal. I chose Ashurbanipal because he was very educated man. He was a good ruler because he could speak several languages. Also he was was independent because he personally led his own army. He must of read a lot because he had an extensive library. Another reason I chose Ashurbanipal is he seams like a really nice guy.

I would love to meet hammuarbi because he is a really good ruler. Plus he has the hammuarbi codes that are really awesome because that kind of man coud could do all of that! Also he was a fighterfor Mesopotamia. Plus I would not disobay his code. Who would break his code? That why I would love him as a ruler. Griffin
ReplyDeleteI think I would deffinatly want to meet Gilgamesh. I think he was a very good and wise ruler. Also he was very educated. In my opinion the other rulers did not seem very good as Gilgaamesh. For example Hammurabi and Ashurbanipal had way to many codes and rules. Also Sargon led way to many wars nad armies. If I went to Mesopotamia I wouldn't want to live there forever but I would want to go and visit for a couple of days so I could learn more about Gilgamesh a couple thousand yeras ago. Also when we were reading the book there was no war over water when Gilgamesh was king so that would be good. Also if I lived under Gilgamesh's rule I would be able to find out about all of the things that were told about Gilgamesh if they were true or not so I could come back and tell all my friends abou him. ReplyDeleteIf i could meet any Mesopotamian ruler it would be Hammurabi. Hammurabi ruled four quarters of the world. I think it's pretty cool to own all that land under one ruler. It would be great honor to meet him and/or help him anyway I can. He is a very successful warlord. He waged several military campaigns and was very successful.

I would like to be alive at the same time as Hammurabi.I would like to because I think it was important that he created Hammurabi's code. Also, because I would like to live in Babylon. And, I think it is really cool that he had his own empire. I liked how Hammurabi gave the thrown to his sons when he died. Lastly,I think it is cool how he tried to make everyone equal atleast law wise.

If I had to choose a king to meet I would choose hammurabi.I would Choose him because he has a lot of land. If i could meet any Mesopotamian ruler I would want Hammurabi because he was the first dynasty king of the city state of babylon.He also inherited his father.Babylon was one of the many ancient city-states that dotted the Mesopotanian plain and waged war on eachother for controlof fertle agricultural land.Hammurabi was born on c.1792 BC in Babylon.Hammurabbi died on 1750.What I think is cool about Hammurabi is known for code of hammurabi. What i think of Hammurabi is that he puts a certain code and only certain ancient people know it.That is why I think Hammurabi is the Best Ruler Ever!

I would like to live in the time of Nebuchaadnezzar, king of Babylon because this was a very exciting time.
ReplyDelete(assuming I would live and not die during that time!) I don't know if I'd actually like to meet him, because chances are, I'd probably be one of the Jews that got captured by his army and taken captive all the way to Babylon for years and years! Of course Nebachadnezzar could never have taken the Israelites captive if they had not greatly offended God, by worshiping false gods and sacrificing inocent people to them! God removed His protection from His chosen people when they sinned too badly. I would like to find out how the cities were built, because Babylon was was a great center of culture and they even tried to build a tower to reach heaven.

I would like to have meet Hammurabi because he has all these codes that are really cool.What I think made him a good ruler is the codes that he created for his people.He also had lots of empires which I think was really cool.If I were Hammurabi I would have created the statue of myself so I could see how good looking I was.Another reason I think Hammurabi is cool because he could get food when ever he wants and how ever he wants. Hammurabi is the coolest ruler ever.

If I could meet and be alive at the same time as an ancient ruler, it would definitely be Ashurbanipal. I like Ashurbanipal because he was highly respected because he led an army and rulers are respected for doing theat. I also love Ashurbanipal's name! His name is very confusing to say and took me a while to memorize it and say it, and it's so long! But I really like him for being a ruler and leading the army. I also would like to meet Ashurbanipal because I think that he was a good leader and accomplished many things while he was ruling. Ashurbanipal was also a ruler that had to do with many tablets and scrolls and often hired many scribes. I think that Ashurbanipal would be very cool meet and I wish that I actually could meet him.

I think I would have liked to have been around Hammurabi because I like how he has those loins and I like loins.Also I like him because he made the codes that we have today.He also was the king of Babylon and he was a bad king at first but then he got better.I think I would like to go see what it was like back then and bring a camera.Then I could show the whole class what it was like back then.I would like to buy some things there to so I know that this stuff is special and it was buried before we knew it was even there.

If i could meet an ancient ruler it would have to be Hammurabi. I would choose Hammurabi because he has a very cool name I think his name is very original and fun. I also would like to meet him because of his tale about him looking for eternal life on earth it was a very cool story to listen to. I think meeting him would be a very cool because he probably has lots more tales to tell like him not accepting a lady's proposal. I also adore him because of his lions he has around him. I would ask him why he always has lions with him because I just think that it is crazy that a grown man always has lions with him. That's why I would love to have him as a ruler and also meet him.

DeleteI really want to meet Hammurabi. I want to meet him because he was brilliant. He also conquered Mesopatamia by using water. Not power, just water. He also created the Code of Hammurabi with 282 laws. It's also kind of funny that he had lions with him. That really stuck out to me. Also, I would want to live when Hammurabi was ruler because I want to see how organized Mesopatamia was back then. I would also be a litte afraid of him because if I did something wrong, I would probably be dead. But otherwise, I would want to meet Hammurabi the most.

I would like to meet Hammurabi because he has codes/laws. I also like him because he seems a bit more peaceful than Sargon. He has some very reasonable laws. One law was if someone built your house poorly and one of the walls collapsed then the builder would have to rebuild it. The same rule goes for boat. I think that it would be cool to see Hammurabi also because he has a big library. That is why I would like to meet Hammurabi!

Hammurabi seemed like the best ruler unlike Sargon. Hammurabi seemed very peaceful. He had very strong laws. I'd like to live during Hammurabi's time period so I wouldn't have to worry about thieves. He also had a huge library. Those are two reasons I would like to live in that time period.

I would have liked to be under the command of the Mesopotamian king, Hammurabbi. I would like to be under his command because he was very orginized. His code was a very clever idea that made peace in parts of Mesopotamia. Also, if you did not follow one of his laws perfectly, there would be consiquences, so you would learn your lesson that day you stole the bread! If I got to meet him, I would pass out, wake up 20 minuts later, and ask some questions. One of the questions would be, "Why did you dicide to write a list of your own laws?" That is which king I would choose to be under the command of and what I would ask him!

If I was alive during that time then I would want to be ruled by Hammurabi. I would want to be ruled by Hammurabi because he had laws. Even though he was a little merciless, but at least it wasn't toward his own country. I think he was very organized and clever. His eye for eye system was brilliant, possibly better than jail. I would ask him how he came up with an idea for laws. I think I respect Hammurabi the most out of all of them, too.

If I could be ruled by one of the four rulers I would want to be ruled by Ashurbanipal. I would want to be ruled by him because he could read seven languages. He could also write all seven. He had a extensive library which not many people had back then. He also would have to be brave to personally lead his own army to conquer all most all of the Fertile Crescent. All of the things he did during his reign are just more reasons that I would want to be ruled by him

I would also pick him because he was the one would did god things for his people and himself. He is the one who will be remembered forever in there hearts. I think I would choose Hammuriabi because he was pretty nice to his people. With rules there is would be less chaos. They thought he was chosen by the gods. No one knows if that is exactly true but who knows. One of my questions is WHATS WITH THE LION?The last reason i would want to be under Hammurbi is he seems like a pretty cool with the lion thing.
