Digital Citizenship

What is Digital Citizenship?  There are TONS of videos on You Tube that you could watch to give you some ideas.  Or, you could view the one that I put on the TECHNOLOGY page of our Class Website.  Describe what you think Digital Citizenship is and why it is important.  Remember to read the directions before you start your blog.  Use capital letters and write 3-5 full and complete sentences on the topic.

  1. Digital citizenship is to not cyberbully or steal ideas. It is to help people, encorage people, and support people. When I got my facebook account everybody was bullying eachother and I was thinking why people do this to other people? What's the point in bullying?

  3. Digital Citizenship is deciding how safe how are you going to follow the rules online and with modern day technology. It is important because it is fun to play games, and take pictures, and have a Facebook account, but with that you have to follow the conditions of the privilege of using these forms of technology. Also, it is for you to have fun and not to bully people because they just want to play games or show someone a silly picture.

  4. Digital Citizenship is when you are a responsible citizen online. If you have a Facebook account or an email, you have to be careful in what you post and in what you share. Digital Citizenship can also be related to Cyber-bullying and if you are kind to people online.

  6. If you go online often you might have been bullied over the internet. Lets say you have a facebook. Well alot of people have a facebook. Half the people that have facebooks may acidentlly send you arequest,or they could be bullies at your school. They could be somone you don't even now. :)joey(:

  7. If you have a Facebook page, you might actidentally accept a friend request from someone you barely know. Then they start posting mean comments on the photos or comments that you put on your page. So, if they've been cyber bullying, you should just delete them from your profile so they will stop bullying you over the internet.

  9. Digital citizenship is not about bullying and stealing ideas, it is talking to your friends. When you go online and email your friends, you should always be nice and responsible for what you say to them on the computer. If you steal someone's idea, it is like calling someone a name. The reason is that you may hurt their feelings, and it is wrong to steal someone's idea.

  13. Digital citizenship is giving other people credit for things they did and, like Hannah said, not to steal ideas and not cyber-bullying. You don't spread rumors by sending chain letters. I think you should be good on the internet. Who needs to bully?

  19. Digital citizenship is where you make sure people on the internet are safe and that all the personal information is kept with you not other people that you don't want knowing thngs like that hurt you. And people can figure out where you live, or how to get in to your house. Digital citizenship can also be cyberbulling. You never want anyone to hurt you mentally, or physically. And sometimes, both of those can be both as powerful.

  23. Digital citizenship is being kind to others online. It is also being responisble for yourself and using the internet in a way that helps you become a better person. A good digital citizen never bullies others, causes rumors to be spread, or says things that are hurtful or harmful to others. Julia

  24. Be careful what you post on Facebook,Myspace,Twitter, email and text message. Because it can be hurtful to people and they can spread rumors all around the world and they can talk about this behind their back and make them feel bad or as sad. It can also be seen all over the world and say stuff about them and it says on the internet forever.

  25. I think digital citizenship is when you post something about another person and you or someone else sais something about someone and people start spreading roumers. I think you should make sure that when you post something on Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace. I think you should think of others when you post something on a social network site and make sure it is not offensive to anyone. that is what I think digital citizenship is.
